The Position
As Senior Consultant Strategic Sourcing, you will counsel organisations through each stage of an IT sourcing project. Your goal will be to assist clients in organising and managing their IT to better support their organisational goals. This could involve increased innovation speed, improved quality, or cost control. By doing this, you support and guide the client as much as you can during the digital transformation process.
To achieve this, you will collaborate with the client to develop the organisation's sourcing strategy. You will define what the company should handle internally, what can be outsourced, and what should make use of cloud services. You will create the business case for sourcing and work with the client to choose when and where to outsource. Additionally, in a number of possible roles, you will be responsible for supplier selection alongside your client.
You can fulfil a specialist role as Project Manager, but also, for example, a generalist role as Quality Controller. As a result, the work of Senior Consultant Strategic Sourcing is varied and allows you to fulfil various roles simultaneously for different clients.
You might, for instance, be assisting a client in the financial sector with the outsourcing of its IT environment to the cloud or aiding a government agency with the outsourcing of their telephony contracts. The common thread is that you enjoy assisting clients in setting up and managing contracted IT services in an optimal way. You are skilled at bringing clients' requirements to the forefront, in understanding what they want to accomplish with their IT environment and providing advice on how to do so. You are capable of handling any job related to managing suppliers, working out business cases or drawing up an RFI, RFP, PvE or SLA in order to realise the sourcing strategy.
Who are You?
- You have an HBO or WO degree in the field of information, organisational or business administration;
- You are knowledgeable and skilled in carrying out supplier selections, tendering and the contracting of ICT service delivery;
- You have at least 4 years of experience in IT, Procurement, Contract Management and/or Service Delivery or broad consultancy experience;
- You take great pleasure in contributing to challenging, socially relevant projects and issues, whether on your own or as a team;
- You can understand a situation rapidly and state the issue clearly;
- You possess excellent communication skills and are adept at giving advice at various levels;
- You have a commercial mindset, are analytically strong and proactive in relationship management, networking and quotation processes lending.
